We are delighted to announce that Katie Craig will be joining the Bridge Referrals team in October 2026 as we continue to develop our brand-new Rehabilitation Centre.
Katie will be leading hydrotherapy in our purpose-built hydrotherapy room, which will feature brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment, allowing us to provide the very highest standard of rehabilitation care for our patients.

From empty room to hydrotherapy suite… watch this space!
Katie began her career as an Animal Care Assistant but quickly discovered a passion for rehabilitation. She started assisting in hydrotherapy in 2017 before becoming a trainee hydrotherapist between 2021 and 2022, qualifying as a hydrotherapist in 2022. Her passion for learning hasn’t stopped there – Katie is currently studying to become a veterinary physiotherapist alongside working full-time and hopes to qualify in around three years.
Katie’s passion for hydrotherapy comes from her love of animals and her fascination with the journey from surgery through to recovery, as well as the journey from diagnosis to the long term management of many conditions. She enjoys seeing patients regain their strength and mobility, knowing that rehabilitation can have a life-changing impact. Many patients attend weekly hydrotherapy sessions for up to 10 weeks, with some patients coming for long term maintenance sessions. Witnessing patients’ progress is one of the most rewarding aspects of her role, as well as supporting their owners through what can be a stressful period.
One area of rehabilitation that Katie finds especially rewarding is supporting the older patients. Helping them maintain their strength, keeping them comfortable and supporting them through their golden years, while also supporting their owners during a difficult time, is something she feels incredibly privileged to do.
Katie is particularly passionate about treating spinal patients. Thanks to dedicated rehabilitation programmes, many spinal patients have an excellent chance of recovery, and Katie enjoys being part of that journey. She also has a keen interest in helping patients with hip and elbow dysplasia, providing the long-term rehabilitation they need to live happier, more comfortable lives.
Katie was drawn to Bridge Referrals because of our independent, patient-focused approach and our commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive environment for both staff and clients. Having previously worked with several members of our team, including our physiotherapist Rebecca, she was excited by the opportunity to work alongside colleagues who share her passion for rehabilitation and patient care.
When she joins us in October, Katie is looking forward to supporting both existing and new patients, helping them achieve the very best outcomes throughout their rehabilitation journey.
What is hydrotherapy?
For those unfamiliar with veterinary hydrotherapy, Katie explains that treatment takes place using an underwater treadmill rather than swimming. The warm water provides buoyancy, reducing pressure on painful joints and limbs while allowing patients to exercise safely. Hydrotherapy can help reduce inflammation, provide pain relief, rebuild muscle strength and support recovery following surgery or injury. Hydrotherapy can also be used to manage some conditions conservatively by building the correct muscles, improving ROM, enhancing the patients gait pattern.
About Katie
Outside of work, Katie enjoys an active lifestyle. She owns a nine-year-old horse called Blue and has two Jack Russell crosses: six-year-old Martha and seven-month-old rescue pup Henry, who recently joined the family.
When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll usually find Katie spending time with Blue, walking her dogs or rock climbing.
We are incredibly excited that Katie will be joining the Bridge Referrals family in October 2026 and can’t wait for her to help shape and grow our new Rehabilitation Centre. Please join us in giving Katie a very warm welcome!
