We’re delighted to be welcoming Jo to the Bridge Referrals team this September as our Lead MRI Radiographer, where she will play a key role in establishing and developing our brand-new MRI service, as well as supporting the continued development of our advanced CT imaging capabilities.
Jo began her career in diagnostic imaging in 1989, working within NHS radiology departments across the North of England. Soon after qualifying, Jo spent two years working as a volunteer radiographer in a hospital in Namibia. On her return, Jo moved to a specialist neurology hospital in Liverpool, where she trained in CT and MRI and discovered a passion for advanced imaging techniques.
Over the next 25 years, she built an impressive career in human diagnostic imaging, training in MRI interpretation and managing the MRI department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, before deciding to combine her passion for diagnostic imaging with her lifelong love of animals.
Jo then transitioned into veterinary imaging, working with Burgess Diagnostics and gaining valuable experience across several veterinary referral centres. Jo says she has never looked back since making the move into veterinary medicine. She loves working with animals and finds helping them through advanced diagnostic imaging incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time outdoors with her two spaniels, Hettie and Martha, often walking along the North East coastline. She’s also a proud owner of three rescue cats – Henry, Effie and Mabel – who keep her just as busy at home.
Jo is incredibly excited to be joining Bridge Referrals. Having previously worked alongside several members of our team, she’s looking forward to being reunited with familiar faces and helping to build our new MRI service from the ground up. She’s especially excited to be working with our brand-new MRI scanner as we continue to expand our advanced diagnostic imaging services.
