At Bridge Referrals, we love seeing our patients return to comfort and happiness, regardless of their age. Recently, we had the pleasure of helping Daisy, a wonderful 17-year-old cat, who came to see our Ophthalmology team with a problem that was beginning to affect her quality of life.

Daisy had developed several large lumps around her eyelid which were causing irritation and discomfort. As these growths increased in size, they began to interfere with the delicate tissues around her eye, making everyday life less comfortable for her.

After a thorough assessment, our Ophthalmologist, Sarah, recommended surgical removal of the lumps. The procedure was performed successfully, and Daisy recovered remarkably well. Thanks to her resilience and the dedicated care she received, she was soon back to enjoying life without the discomfort that had been troubling her.

Following her recovery, Daisy returned for her post-operative checks and has now been signed off from our care. The results speak for themselves — not only does she look much more comfortable, but her eye area has healed beautifully.

One of our favourite sights during her recovery was seeing Daisy sporting her recovery donut, which she wore with style and grace! While it certainly made for a charming photo, the most important outcome is that Daisy is now comfortable, happy, and able to enjoy her golden years without the irritation caused by the eyelid lumps.

Daisy’s story is a wonderful reminder that age should never be a barrier to improving a pet’s quality of life. Many conditions that affect older pets can be successfully treated, helping them remain comfortable and enjoy their senior years to the fullest.

We are delighted with Daisy’s outcome and wish her many more happy, healthy years ahead.
